littlemushroomThough An Zhe is simply a little mushroom, he's got some very unique characteristics and abilities that set him apart from other mushrooms and folks back home. Since the majority of his abilities are extremely scenario specific, this is more of a general opt-in as I will probably be contacting you directly to ask if you are cool with things or the specifics of what we want to do with it! This gives me a handy place to keep things written down~ Thank you!
ππΌππΌπ ABILITIES
ππΌππΌπ Toxicity
As a mushroom, An Zhe is described to taste sweet and delicious. Ingesting even the slightest bit of his hyphae can result in a fully grown, 6'2" man being knocked out for several hours in a relatively short period of time.
Ways this could come up: Dealing with nasty people in a diner scenario. Helping someone get to sleep. Sneakin' around.

ππΌππΌπ Shapeshifting
An Zhe can shift between his mushroom form and his human body at will, and also change his size to be teeny tiny. His entire appearance is simply thousands of hyphae and mycelleum wound together that he has complete control over. He's got incredible motor control due to that. It also means he can partially shift as well, such as dissolving his arm into strands of hyphae to dodge a blow or extending them out to try and grab something at a longer distance. (In those particular cases, it only works if he can use enough hyphae to make the task weight-bearing. They are delicate on their own!) Because he fully absorbed An Ze's DNA, if he is fully transformed as a human he will pass medical exams as a human.
ππΌππΌπ A completely Stable frequency [Memory shares + fusions + immunization]
Every thing in this universe is part of a symphony, with every living and non-living thing playing a part. Everything has a frequency, and if that frequency is interrupted it has the chance to change and become something new. In An Zhe's world, this meant that people could transform into plants or animals, or that objects and creatures could even fuse together as the chords controlling everything grew more and more unstable.
An Zhe, however, has a perfectly stable frequency. Because his is truly stable, he cannot be involuntarily affected by things like frequencies and infection. Essentially, he is the panacea in a theoretical zombie infection on his version of Earth. It is a kind of immunity that will be played with RNG, because it is not a perfect solution and I personally want to play around with the horrors 8]
MEMORY SHARES
An Zhe can absorb or fuse relatively safely with other creatures. This comes about in a few different ways. Should he ingest a part of a living creature or plant, be it a nibble or by absorbing some of their blood through his hyphae during first aid, he can perceive their feelings and memories. Sometimes this is just a flash of something that just happened. Sometimes it is a swath of their lifetime. If they are feeling something particularly strongly, it can make him feel that way too. The rush of thoughts and feelings are not things he can personally control, and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
He doesn't always talk about what he sees, and the only outward sign he shows that something is happening is that he might zone out a bit because the memories overlap with reality.
Ways this could come up: Performing first aid, winkity wonkity, meeting a telepath**, he bites you and he bites you and he bites you, etc.
Full Share - You can share whatever thought or memory or anything else you'd like An Zhe to perceive. This can be something from the past or something that just happened, anything you want. Just dump it and I will eat it up.
The Basics - If nothing is provided, I would just pull from the emotions so far displayed in the thread and have him feel them more intensely without dipping too far in.
Full Opt-Out - It simply will not be mentioned! Easy Peasy.
**TELEPATHS: Telepaths are absolutely welcome in An Zhe's brain, but his previous encounter with a mental force behaved the same way as direct contact did and resulted with him being handed so many memories. Tapping into his mind may mean that the telepath hands him a memory or feeling of their own as listed above as well. (They are welcome to recognize this is happening, of course.) His own thoughts may come across as a bit nebulous and fuzzy, as mushrooms typically are not creatures that have thoughts. Have a novel time in mushroom land. There's also a whole other set of memories in there that seem kind of out of place! Weird!
FUSIONS
The part that he is not fully aware of yet due to canon point is that he can also shift into other things temporarily should he so choose by fusing with them, be they living or non-living. In a future instance, he turned into a whole room of willow catkins. This can backfire on him though, as his frequency is not compatible with everything. In another future instance, he tried to fuse with a potato and ended up passing out for several hours because of the incompatibility. Due to the unstable nature of Diadem, incompatibilities are bound to be fairly common and could even happen with the absorption if he gets unlucky enough. These elements are all things he will need to learn while in Diadem and most likely by accident 8'D I am looking forward to it 8'D
Back home, his spore was initially being researched as a way to create a vaccine against what was thought was an infection. Later, samples of his spore were used to create a kind of spray to prevent the fusion of other objects together like a sort of water repellent spray. Whether or not this comes into play here, well! Who knows!!

Backtagging: Always! The spicy brain takes over sometimes so I sometimes vanish. If I come back too late, feel free to let it go. Alternatively, let me know if there was something you really wanted to continue!
Tagging speed: Usually pretty slow, tbh. You might catch me on a powerful day tho.
Threadhopping: Public things, always. I'm usually down with it in threads but please ask just in case!
Fourthwalling: Ehhhh we can talk about it if it seems relevant.

Affection: Do it. Ruffle his hair. Slap him on the back. Drape all over him. He will be 100% confused but will not stop you.
Violence: He's extremely bullyable and easy to bruise. You can beat him up if you want. Just ask if we're incapacitating him or beyond??? (Why. What has he done. Oh no.)
Relationships / Intimacy: He is 100% emotionally invested in a fella and that's already a confusing new human emotion for him to contend with, so any of that kind of affection will prrrrobably not be reciprocated beyond platonically. He's cute and has been hit on a lot, so feel free to do so regardless if you so desire. (However I, Bret, will probably absolutely ship everything regardless on a personal level.)
